Discovering

La Seigneurie

An open door to the winegrowers of the Pays de Barr
Located in Andlau, in an imposing Renaissance building dating from 1582, La Seigneurie is a heritage interpretation center that invites you to discover a region: the Pays de Barr. From plains to mountains, explore its landscapes, natural resources and rich heritage: vineyards, half-timbered houses, religious buildings, castles… A gateway to a land in the heart of Alsace, the Seigneurie offers you the keys to a whole region!

Winegrowing is a flagship activity in the Pays de Barr, and one that characterizes the landscape of the Vosges foothills. For this reason, the Seigneurie has dedicated a large area to it, covering in turn the history of Alsace winegrowing, the care that vines require throughout the year, and the eight grands crus that are the pride of the region. An introduction to Alsace wines, La Seigneurie is an invitation to meet passionate men and women, and discover their trade and their wines.
As part of the Grand-Est region, Alsace is a land at the heart of Europe, where it has lived through some of the most important periods in its history. Between Germany and France, Alsace is heir to two cultures, giving it a strong identity, rich in these contributions. From the banks of the Rhine to the peaks of the Vosges, Alsace’s landscapes offer a wide variety of terroirs where vines have been cultivated for 2000 years.
