Vilafranca, tradition, vines and wine

Vilafranca del Penedès is the capital of the Alto Penedès and the capital of wine!
It’s one of Catalonia’s largest cities, thanks to its status as capital of the Haut Penedès region, which has a long tradition of winegrowing, its strategic location and good transport links with the main cities of Catalonia and Spain.

Wine production has left its mark on its character, culture and traditions. Vilafranca combines medieval nobility with new economic, commercial and cultural trends. Equipped with all modern services, it is home to a variety of industries and is seeing the development of the wine and cava sector.

Vilafranca del Penedès immediately conjures up images of heritage, landscapes, wine and traditions, including “human towers”.
